Meet Me

Certified Birth/Labor Doula

I am trained and certified as an advanced birth doula through DONA, as a labor doula through CAPPA, and as a bereavement doula through Stillbirthday.  I have served families for nearly twenty years and have completed hundreds of continuing education credits beyond my certifcations, including specialized training in supporting families through perinatal loss, TENS use in labor, Spinning Babies optimal fetal positioning and Level I Reiki.  I am a member of DONA, CAPPA, Stillbirthday and the American Pregnancy Association and serve as a Peanut Ball Ambassador for Premier Birth Tools.  I am also a Patient and Family Advisor for University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health.  I am the former director of CAPPA’s Operation Special Delivery military volunteer doula program and former DONA Representative for Maryland. I have experience with both natural and medicated births, multiples, cesarean births and vaginal births after cesareans.  My desire is to help women and their partners have beautiful childbirth experiences full of peace and free from fear.

Wife and Mom

I was born and raised in Northern Harford County, MD. I have been happily married since 1996 to my husband, Jason and we live near the Mason-Dixon Line in PA. We have been blessed with four children; Mikaela, stillborn in 1996, Jennifer, born in 1997, Mason, born on April Fools Day 2001 and Josiah, water born on Friday, the 13th of May 2011. Mason unexpectedly passed away as a result of medical errors in 2009.  All of my children were born vaginally, without pain medication; one after an induced labor because of intra-uterine death and the other three after relatively short and painless labors. I have had great breastfeeding experiences with my children.
